When it comes to producing foals, at the Trail Pal Horse Farm, we have elected to place a premium on quality. Our intention is not to flood the market, but instead to produce one or two exceptional foals per year. We have selected our mares based on disposition, conformation, pedigree, and color.
We are of the firm belief that a foal's disposition is inherited from and developed mostly by the dam. All of our mares are saddle horses before they ever become "mommas", having positively proved themselves in the areas of temperament and trainability.
We expect the foals we raise to grow up to be productive members of the stock horse world with the ability to hold up to the rigors of the chosen discipline of the future owner. In selecting our mares, emphasis is put on correct conformation. When the time comes to choose a prospective sire, we analyze, study and search all over the country for that special stallion that will best compliment our mare.
By keeping a watchful eye on the industry trends and staying informed of "who's hot" in the different disciplines, we try to make sure our foal's pedigree contains the ancestors that will add to their value over the years.
If we can take all of the above criteria, and then wrap it up in a colorful package, that's frosting on the cake. Our mares have all undergone color genetic testing to give us the best shot at producing that extra pretty colored baby.
With these factors in mind, it is with great pleasure we introduce the small but prolific broodmare band of the Trail Pal Trail Horse Farm.

She is a dark blue roan mare out of the sire Royals Diligents and a Jackie Bee bred mare. This mare will be bred to Pepper Joe Hancock for a 2012 foal. Be watching for new photos, and check out last years filly sold to NY on our sold page. Check out the video below. This mare had not seen any of these obstacles and the filming was done first time. She just takes everything in stride. This is what we look for in a broodmare. They must be willing, good minded and have the looks to go along with it. Chianti defiantly passed the test.
