INTRODUCING THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR TRAIL PAL TRAINING PROGRAM
Last
winter, our first new prospects arrived that were specifically chosen to take our training program in a new direction. Putting our emphasis on suitability, we looked for youngsters with quiet temperament, quality conformation, a coachable attitude, and eye catching color and appearance. The goal: produce and develop a gentle, well trained trail horse, capable of providing many years of pleasure and companionship. Well folks, we feel we've hit the jackpot with our first selection!

2008 14.1 H AQHA Gelding
Pedigree
When Deece arrived, we considered him to be a little on the small size and since he was just a two year old, holding off until late summer before we pressed him into action might be a good move. However, a spring growing spurt combined with the decision to spare our pregnant mares the additional stress of a rigorous riding schedule, allowed us the opportunity to begin his training a little sooner than originally planned.
Nearly everything we've done so far with this little guy has been a non-issue. First saddling, not even a rounded back; first mounting, stood like a rock; first ride in an arena, walked right off. That first arena ride was followed later that morning with a nice two hour trail ride complete with hills, mud, water crossings and step overs. There were about five in our group and we gave Deece the chance to be in the middle, back, and even lead for awhile. By the time the weekend was over, he had already logged about eight hours of saddle time broken down into two hour sessions. You would have thought he had weeks under his saddle, not just a few hours.
Now with two weeks of training complete, capped off by a long Memorial Day weekend to End of the Trail Campground and over 40 miles of riding in Wildcat Mountain state park and the Kickapoo Reserve of central Wisconsin, his training is progressing at warp speed. Whatever you ask of this guy, he just does it! He is starting to respond to beginning neckrein requests and has picked up on leg yields, moving softly away from leg pressure. We are doing some long trotting and introduced the lope. It won't be long before we'll be putting the polish on his gaits.
With the quiet attitude, willingness, and try possessed by this little feller, we are confident he will be ready to go by July 1st. Now we know, based on conversations with prospective customers over the years, a lot of folks have a tendency to shy away from young horses. But keep in mind, our program consist not only of training exercises, but also tons of trail miles. By July 1st. Deece will have logged well over 200 miles. I'd be willing to bet there are a lot of 10 year olds out there that don't have that kind of mileage on their odometers!! Here is an opportunity to own a top quality, beautifully colored, well trained individual with the mental makeup of horses three times his age. This guy is sure to be a solid trail companion for many, many years to come.

This is an extra nice filly. The sire, Two Buck Leo stands 15 h and is a caramel dun. He is an own son of Two Eyed Red Buck who is one of the leading sires of the Pitzer Ranch.
The dam is Wyo Royal Sadie Blue. She stands 14.3 h and is a dark blue roan out of a Jacki Bee bred mare and sire Royals Diligents. These horses are bred to rope and work.
This filly has a very pretty head with little ears. A nice neck that ties into a really broad chest. Her legs are very correct with absolutely no turning in or out. She has a power house of a hip and is going to be one stout little girl!
We just started training her dam and she is extremely quiet. Her first time across a bridge and a blue tarp there was not even a hesitation. This filly seems to be the same way. The video taken was shot two weeks after weaning. It was her first time away from the other horses and barn and she was outstanding. She has lost a bit of weight but is starting to gain it back. Bred for ranch work or going down the trail. Will make a great broodmare. Email for more photos and info.

A couple of years ago we made a decision based on our desire to offer the customer just a little extra when it came to the purchase of their next trail horse. That "little extra" was to provide not only a top notch trail individual, but also one that had the breeding, ability and temperament to excel in other facets of the horse industry as well. A horse the entire family could enjoy, a horse that could go from the trail in the afternoon to the show ring that night, and turn heads no matter what event was on the agenda.
When the opportunity presented itself to obtain this mare, an own daughter of Who Whiz It, we felt we had found the perfect individual on which to try this new phase of our marketing program. To say the least, she has come through for us with flying colors.
While she has never been shown, she did have extensive reining training before our acquisition and has been kept reasonably well tuned every since. large circles, small circles, spins, flying lead changes, and the willingness to stop, are all right there, ready to be brought to surface.
By combining our trail training with her natural abilities and performance training, and logging two solid seasons of trail experience, she has developed into one of the most versatile, level headed, and willing partners on e could ever ask for. From her dark dapple buckskin coat to the trademark "?" brand on her cheek, she is a carbon copy of her famous daddy and guaranteed to garner compliments wherever you take her.
Seldom does an individual come around that can provide a 4H project for the kids, take Mom on a leisurly (and SAFE) trail ride with the ladies, and still allow Dad the opportunity to run a reining pattern, patricipate in a team sorting or maybe even throw a rope. AND she's wrapped up in one real pretty package.
Don't miss out. These kind don't come around every day!!!
